Cookies and Similar Technologies
(Version: May 5, 2026)
When you use our website and services, features such as cookies or similar technologies (hereinafter: "Cookies") are used as part of what is known as ‘web tracking’ and to ensure the technical functioning of our website. Web tracking means that users’ behaviour can be tracked. We do this to improve and personalise our services, as well as to optimise advertising. Web tracking also enables us to recognise you on other websites or social networks and display personalised advertising to you there.
What are Cookies? Cookies are small files consisting of letters and numbers that are stored in your browser or device and enable the Cookie owner to recognise the device when it visits websites or uses online services. The website you visit may set Cookies directly (first-party Cookies) or trigger Cookies set by other domains (third-party Cookies). Whilst we automatically use some Cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the services you have requested or to enable communication, we ask for your consent for all other Cookies.
We use the following types of Cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below:
- First-Party Cookies: First-party Cookies are set by the website you are visiting and can only be read by that website.
- Third-Party Cookies: Our website may contain helpful but non-essential features or plug-ins that enable third-party services which use Cookies, such as social media links, maps, advertising networks or web traffic analysis services.
- Session Cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Session Cookies store a so-called session ID, which allows various requests from your browser to be associated with the same session. This enables your computer to be recognised when you return to our website. Session Cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.
- Permanent Cookies (or persistent Cookies) remain even after you close your browser and are automatically deleted after a certain period of time, which may vary depending on the Cookie. You can also delete these Cookies at any time via your browser’s security settings.
In addition to Cookies, we also use similar technologies. For the sake of clarity, we refer to them collectively as “Cookies” in this policy. Similar technologies may include, for example, pixel tags. Pixel tags are transparent one-pixel images displayed on the website. They track, for example, whether a specific area of the website has been clicked. When the pixel tag is triggered, it logs a user interaction and may read or set Cookies.
You can configure your browser before or after visiting our website to reject all Cookies or to notify you when a Cookie is sent. These settings can usually be managed in your browser’s settings, including options to prevent Cookies from being set at all or to delete Cookies. Your browser may also have an incognito mode. You can use these browser features yourself at any time. However, if you have disabled Cookies by default in your browser, our services may not function properly.
Necessary Cookies and Google reCAPTCHA (Necessary Cookies)
We use strictly necessary Cookies on the basis of Section 25(2)(2) of the German Telemedia Act (TDDDG), as they are strictly necessary to provide a digital service you have expressly requested or to enable the proper functioning of our website and its core features. Insofar as personal data is processed in connection with strictly necessary Cookies, this processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and functional provision of our website, the maintenance of essential website functions, the management of sessions and user settings, and the guarantee of the security, integrity and availability of our service.
We use strictly Necessary Cookies, on the one hand, to improve your experience when using our website and, on the other hand, to perform functions that are strictly necessary for the security of the website, for example. For instance, we use session Cookies to recognise that you have already logged into your user account. We also use technologies comparable to Cookies to distinguish you from an automated bot request.
As part of our strictly Necessary Cookies, we also use the Google reCAPTCHA Version 3 service (“reCAPTCHA”) on our website. reCAPTCHA is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). To provide reCAPTCHA, Google processes personal data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We use reCAPTCHA to check whether requests on our website are made by a natural person or through automated, machine-based processing (“bots”). The use of reCAPTCHA is therefore intended to protect our website from abusive automated access, to prevent spam, to prevent fraudulent requests and to ensure the security, integrity and availability of our online service.
When using reCAPTCHA, the following data is transmitted to and processed by Google: IP address, referrer URL, device information (operating system, browser, language settings, screen resolution), date and time of access, interaction data (mouse movement, duration of visit). Based on this data, reCAPTCHA checks in the background whether the request is coming from a human.

We use the Google Ads service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter: “Google”). This service enables us to measure the effectiveness of advertising material. We use Google Ads both to measure the performance of adverts and for remarketing purposes.
When you view a Google advertisement, Google stores a Cookie or similar function on your device. The cookie contains a unique identifier that allows both Google and the advertiser to recognise your browser. With the help of the Cookie, we can track you across various websites. If you have arrived at our site via a Google advertisement, the identifier from the Google Cookie and information about the advertising material used are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and merged with the data from Google Analytics. Your IP address is also transmitted in the process. If you have a Google user account and a Google Cookie containing your user ID is stored in your browser, Google can associate the visit with your user account and thus with you personally. For us, however, the data collected is only available in the form of anonymised statistics.
We also use the conversion tracking function from Google Ads. Through the conversion tracking function, we record how many users have arrived at our website after clicking on an advertisement or have carried out a specific defined action on our website (e.g. placing an order). As a Google Ads customer, we are informed of the total number of users who clicked on an advert and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that would allow us to identify you personally. The information obtained is used for statistical analysis to optimise adverts.
In addition, we also use the Enhanced Conversions features (also known as ‘Enhanced Conversions’). Enhanced Conversions can improve the accuracy of conversion tracking and close tracking gaps by supplementing and matching existing conversion tracking with hashed conversion data from the website. Furthermore, subsequent ad interactions can be attributed to conversions. This personal data is hashed and then transmitted to Google, where it is matched with Google’s own information and personal data, and subsequently made available to us in the form of anonymised statistics to improve conversion measurement.
We process the data described above on the basis of consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect.
Google processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Through this agreement, Google undertakes to process personal data on our behalf in accordance with our instructions and to ensure the protection of the data subject’s rights. Google also processes personal data in part under its own responsibility.
Information on how Google uses personal data transmitted to Google via the integration of its services, as well as regarding your options for customising personalised advertising and data collection, can be found here (https://support.google.com/My-Ad-Center-Help/answer/12155451? hl=de) and here (https://support.google.com/My-Ad-Center-Help/answer/12155764?hl=de). General information on data processing by Google can be found at: https://business.safety.google/privacy/. You can also access Google’s privacy policy there.
Further information on data protection can be found in our Privacy Policy. There you will also find our contact details as the data controller, as well as the contact details of the data protection officer, information on the transfer of data to countries outside the EEA, and relevant information regarding your rights as a data subject.
